Monkey Love

{ETA: Having issues with posting...I'm sure it's user error! lol}

(For those of you stopping by to see projects, check back in a couple of days. I have a few cards to post! While you're waiting keep reading to learn a little more about me...)

Monkey Love, Baby!

FOR TODAY 25 26 27 January 2010...(I know I'm a little behind...been trying to upload this post since Sunday evening. Finally get things working and had every intention of getting this post up last night, but best laid plans...right? That seems to be the theme for this month...well, here we go!)

Outside my window...life-giving warmth of the sun, bright blue skies dusted with shredded clouds and bunnies…(NO the bunnies weren't shredded! They were hopping across the yard.)

I am thinking...that I’m going thru a “depletion cycle”…as fast as I can run.

I am thankful for...quiet moments, routines, daily living, 400 calorie cups of hot chocolate topped with swirled whipped cream (very satisfying when you need a pick me up...of course, too many of those and no one's going to be picking me up! haha)

I am remembering…just how much I miss my mother…and thinking about my cousin, who recently lost her father. (Love and hugs to you, sweetie!)

From the kitchen...looking forward to fresh veggies, bread and soups with cream and fruit for dessert. (really going through a whipped cream phase...)

I am creating...that’s it! I AM CREATING. And loving what precious little time I have to make stuff…cards, lately, but scheduling (yes, scheduling!) time to work on scrapbook projects and creating plans for being able to do and share what I love even more!

One of my favorite things…post-it notes…they come in all shapes, sizes, designs and colors. They are portable and can go anywhere…in my desk, in a drawer in the bathroom, in my purse, in my car...hmm…and your uses, dear one, let me count the ways…reminders, lists, notes, letters, doodles and of course crafting! love, love, love!

I am going...way outside my comfort zone this week and taking a mini vacation (soooo needed!) Just wish it was to somewhere warm and sunny...would tropical be asking too much? lol

I am reading...books, blogs and articles that uplift, encourage and emphasize living each day with purpose...and crafting...okay, not really living and crafting, but I do read about purposeful crafting...does that count?

I am hoping...to be able to quickly follow through with meaningful changes I've begun in my life. Patience is a virtue I do not naturally possess...it is painstakingly earned...

Around the house...I’ve begun to unload those things that are no longer needed and no longer loved. Even though I’ve really just begun the process of decluttering the material things in my life, I can already feel a lifting of my spirit!

Some Good Things from this past week...
* Card swaps…working on getting the pictures uploaded!
* E.’s birthday party…lots of hugs, smiles and balloons!
* jounaling time

A few plans for the rest of the week:
• Start this year’s school pages for the kids’ albums…
• Actually write down my goals for this year…need to work on better defining them, too.
(Thank Goodness this will always be a work in progress, subject to constant revision!)
• Workout 3 more times this week

What have you been up to lately?

hugs,
Angi

Loveliness...

So, if you are even remotely into handmade...regardless if your thing is cards, scrapbooks, altered art, beading...whatever...I'm sure you've heard mention of Lisa Leonard. She designs sterling silver jewelry (say that 3 times fast!) of the sighing kind. Charms that are personal, close to the heart.

Sometimes literally.

This is loveliness (click HERE to see what's on my heart today.)

Going on my wishlist. 4 names, 4 hearts...all mine.

What's on your heart today?

hugs,
Angi

Getting closer...

Okay...good intentions and all...do you like my new header? It's still a work in progress, but I figured I'd post it and continue working on it as I get time. Haven't updated my fonts files, yet, either...but that's on the list.

Haven't even tried to work a New Year's Resolutions list...although I think I'm leaning more towards a goals for 2010 project and catching up (already!) on a 365 pictures project (barely started this one last year, but didn't keep up with the postings...) Hmmm...I suspect my 2010 will be a year of changes, small and large.

I know it's already January...most of us have the Christmas trees and decorations put away and Valentine's crafts are everywhere...but I wanted to share a couple of holiday photos...crafty, of course! As usual I was running behind, but I finally got the girls at work a little something...homemade Eggnog Pound Cake and gift certificates...the tiny kind that go on your keyring and fit just perfectly into Stampin' Up!'s Sizzix Pillow Box!

And what would a Christmas project be without a little glitter?! So, the small circle punched snowflake is covered in sparkles! (Everyone should have a little sparkle in their day, don't you think?!)

I don't have all the specs at my fingertips, may get them up here eventually, but shoot me an email, if you need to know! I found the mini loaf box template searching with Google, but had to change it up a bit as the pans I was using wasn't a standard size. I used one piece of 8.5x11 Kraft Cardstock for each box. The top edges were scalloped and inked up. (Jesse wanted to help me with my project, so I handed him the scallop edge punch...he did a great job!)

The Paper was pretty plain, so I pulled out Serene Snowflakes and embossed white flakes all over an entire sheet of 12x12 (one of last year's game papers...), cut the paper to size and inked up the edges.

Well, that's it for now. I've got to finish getting ready for the day job. Hope you get some time to make some crafty mayhem today!

Hugs,
Angi

Almost there...

Okay...so I meant to get on here and get this blog updated this weekend, but instead I enjoyed some down time with the family. I did, however, get some new photos and projects completed, the kids finished their thank you cards (photos soon!) and we're counting down till the routines are back in place!

Hope you had a great holiday and even some fun time!

See ya soon!
